The most important technical issues in marine engineering for next decades are decarbonization and digitalization. The development of environment-friendly marine vehicles and offshore structures to reduce green-house-gas emission is The mission of everyone who are involved in shipbuilding, shipping and offshore industries. Furthermore, the digitalization of marine vehicles and structures, triggered by the Fourth Industrial Revolution, has become a historical flow in marine engineering.
In the present engineering trend, decarbonization and digitalization are becoming the catalysts for the development of new technologies and equipment in marine industries. The demand of new technologies for those issues is very strong, and it will be even stronger in the future. To further develop new technologies and boost up industrial growth, collaborative efforts must be made in communication and experience sharing between engineers, designers, and researchers. This conference will provide an excellent chance not only to understand the current state of the art for decarbonization and digitalization in marine engineering but also to interact with worldwide researchers and engineers.
On behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to invite you to the International Conference on Decarbonization and Digitalization in Marine Engineering (ICDM). Through this event, I wish you to introduce your research, technology development, industrial or academic educational experience, and all the issues about decarbonization and digitalization.
All the participants will be warmly welcome.
On behalf of the organizing Committee,
Y. Kim(SNU), D.K. Choi(DSME), B. Kim(KRISO), S.J. Kim(KSOE), J.T. Lee(LR), H.H. Jeong(SHI)
